Climate of Estado Espírito Santo
Based on Fábio da Silveira e Castro's dissertation (2008), a book was published in 2012 aiming to address applications of Agrometeorology in the state of Espírito Santo. Here, excerpts and some maps from the publication are presented.
In the studies, data from series of average air temperature and total monthly rainfall were used, considering a period of 30 years (1977-2006). Meteorological data were obtained from 94 measurement points, including: 11 belonging to the meteorological station network of the Instituto Capixaba de Pesquisa, da Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural (INCAPER); 3 belonging to the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET), which provided measurements of average air temperature and precipitation; and 80 others belonging to the Agência Nacional das Águas (ANA), which provided only precipitation data.
